WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

You can’t un-know what you have learned. So, when you are not shifting and growing, it is usually because you are not ready as opposed to not knowing what to do. It doesn’t matter if you are selling peas or parachutes, when you are ready, you are ready, and nothing will stop you.

JAMIE FORWARD FOUNDER OF EAT2BE

A.L. ROBERTS, SUPERCONDUCTOR OF BRAND SYNERGY AT

WHY BLUE MATTERS

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

“Time tells all until you tell it.” Meaning that there are things that time will tell you through experience that helps develop you as a person and become the entrepreneur you want to be. However it isn’t until we start taking charge or rather take initiative when it comes to our entrepreneurial endeavors that we begin to tell time that we’re ready to step into our purpose.

KATE PAWLOWSKI & ANN LIGHTFOOT, CO-FOUNDERS OF

DONE & DONE HOME

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

Kate: Knowing that our business was viable based on a business model and a five year plan allowed us to just keep working even when we were exhausted, overwhelmed and out of money. My dad says that you have to just keep doing something for five years before you can evaluate whether or not you should keep going so with that in mind we tried to stick with our business plan and just keep working. And it paid off! Five years in we really started to take off.

KRISTI KOHUT CEO OF KRISTI KOHUT STUDIO

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN? This is a tough one! I think the one thing I find my self passionately saying over and over is the importance of just starting...just taking that first step in doing what it is you are dreaming about. I think this is the hardest part and the part that people really get stuck because there is so much fear and doubt and so much that is just unknown, it is so easy to let that inner voice take over. There’s never going to be the perfect time, it’s never going to be easy, there are no guarantees BUT there is nothing better than doing what you are supposed to do. So just take that leap and things will start to connect, there will be plenty of time to refine and improve along the way, but if you never start you are missing out on something that is better than you ever could have imagined.

INGRID DE LA MARE-KENNY, CEO & FOUNDER OF THE METHOD®

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

1- Practice what you preach. If you are selling marijuana but you aren’t into drugs you’re a jerk. Love what you are selling to your clients, use it, practice it, be your business’ guinea pig.

2- Don’t just make noise

3- Bitch Be humble, everyone is replaceable. If you think you are replaceable you will continue to outdo yourself to be less replaceable.

MICHAEL BOSSTICK, CEO OF

BOSSTICK MEDIA, DEAR MEDIA & PARTNER AT TSC

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

This is a tough question to answer. I hope the advice I give when I give advice is received well. I hope I’ve had an impact on someone's life in a positive way. That’s why we did the podcast to hopefully provide that impact. I would say that advice is one thing but being an example is another. I try to set the example for young kids (and adults!) to live life on their terms. Take chances. Pursue your vision with integrity and ferocity. If that example has kickstarted anyone in a positive direction in any way, then I feel accomplished.

MINDY PENNEY FOUNDER & CEO, LINDON GROUP

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN?

Treat others as you would want to be treated and there is no perfect time…DO IT NOW!

ASHLEY STROMMEN, CO-FOUNDER OF SUTRA SUPERFOODS

WHAT IS THE BEST BUSINESS ADVICE THAT YOU’VE EVER GIVEN? I was speaking to an individual who was just graduating college and about to enter the work force. She was flooded with advice from a ton of people regarding what she ‘should’ be doing and had exceptional pressure to land something immediately. The girl stated that she was emailing and calling hotels begging for a gig because someone had told her the pay was good and there was an opening in that section of the market. I told her to stop looking and answer, “Describe your dream work life to me. What are you wearing? Are you at a computer or are you working with your hands? Are you inside, outside, in a car? Are you alone or surrounded by people? In an office, a kitchen, your bedroom, nature? Don’t think about what you are DOING, instead tell me what your environment looks, smells, and consists of.” The next week she called me and said that the exercise changed the game for her. She realized all of the jobs she was trying to force her way into would’ve never made her happy. She had become clouded with ‘should’s’ and now this clarity was leading her into a direction that she had confidence in.
